Before Microsoft, Shirley co-founded a successful retail solutions start-up where she served as VP WW Sales & Business Development for six years. Preceding that Shirley held a variety of leadership positions with Fujitsu across geographies including the UK, Caribbean, and the Americas. Shirley Strachan is a passionate leader, a raving fan of technology, sales, business development, and strategy, who has also relished the opportunity to experience a multitude of cultures having lived and worked in numerous geographies during her career.

The mission of the Windows IoT team is “Be the platform and service of choice for all device builders”. As the Senior Director for Sales Strategy & Operations within Microsoft’s IoT Device Partner group, Andrew leads both the business transformation plans and also the operational capability development for our fast-moving IoT Device business.

In his 17 years at Microsoft, Andrew has held positions in the Enterprise Sales, Enterprise Services, Public Sector, and Marketing & Operations divisions of Microsoft’s UK Subsidiary, and has held leadership positions with worldwide responsibility for sales strategy and execution in both the Small & Medium Solutions & Partners group and the OEM Division. Prior to joining Microsoft, Andrew held a variety of engineering, management and policy-making roles within the UK Government.

Andrew graduated from the University of York in the United Kingdom with a Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering. He is a Chartered Engineer and outside work is a keen pianist.

Tim has worked in IT for over 20 years across a variety of technical, project, analysis, support and sales orientated roles in both Australia and the UK. Working in small and large organisations has given him exposure to many complex and diverse infrastructures.

Over the past 7 years Tim has been an SME within the Mobile Device Management space and more recently part of a large retailers Disruptive Technologies Team as a technical architect and strategy resource.

While contributing to many different projects including ML, Image recognition and re-identification, his primary focus as technical lead was developing IOT strategies, leading IOT projects and POCs across retail, supply chain and services.

Tim has a real passion for technology innovation and its ever-increasing influence on industry and has created a number of successful thought leadership groups to collaborate and network.

Tim is looking forward to helping customers develop IOT strategies and utilise Azure services to unlock critical insights from digitized assets to drive digital transformation.

Veli-Matti is a Chief Technology Officer with Insight in Sydney, Australia. Veli started his career with the Digital Equipment Corporation in 1998 as a customer facing consultant, and has since worked in the Information Management field delivering solutions for global enterprise customers. He has worked with Microsoft SharePoint since Tahoe Beta 2 release in mid-2000. Veli was the Lead Technical Architect responsible for HP Services Global Knowledge Management Systems and deployment of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server architecture for HP’s 200,000 users.

Veli is a frequent speaker at industry conferences such as Microsoft TechEd, TechReady, Connections, Microsoft TechNet and MSD2D Web Casts and a co-author of three books on Microsoft SharePoint. Veli has been a member of number of Technical Review Boards, including the Microsoft Developer Advisory Council for SharePoint 2010 and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and lead a number of Technical Adoption Programs for early adopter customers since 2003.

David Burton leads asBUILT DIGITAL, focused on the company’s mission of creating a smarter built world. asBUILT provide a digital foundation, to manage, utilise and maintain your digital twins. The primary focus is to assist asset owners managing their information of the built world, the spatial database becomes the foundation of all utilisation and operational information of the facility. David loves the challenge of helping to digitise an industry that has been very stubborn to change. David’s background of growing up in construction and having various construction delivery roles ensures a unique detailed understanding of the problems the industry faces. David believes making information available and visible in real time will help AEC industry to work together, become more productive, and deliver projects with greater confidence and better outcomes.

Analisa leads the marketing for IoT solutions and is focused on how Microsoft can go to market with our partners. Across the portfolio of IoT solutions, Analisa is responsible for the IoT solutions value proposition, global marketing strategy, and supporting partner co-sell motions. She also works in partnership with product marketing, engineering and sales to provide training, resources and programs to reduce barriers, foster beneficial relationships and enable partners to confidently bring IoT solutions to market.

Matt is the Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence Lead for Microsoft Australia, where he is responsible for building and executing the national go-to-market strategies for these technology areas. He also works directly with customers and partners to advise on best-practice implementation of this technology, both technically and organisationally.
Previously, he was the IoT Technology Specialist in Telstra’s Chief Technology Office. He led the development of vehicle collision technology leveraging the 4G network, explored new business models for improve the uptake of sustainable tech in agriculture, and built Australia’s first publicly-accessible IoT Lab for end-to-end design, testing, and prototyping of IoT solutions.

Simon McDougall is the Mixed Reality Program Lead at Saab Australia. He has been working with mixed reality since the HoloLens was first announced and his team has managed to deliver multiple projects to a range of customers including defence, health and the resources sector.

Anita leads the silicon and hardware ecosystem partnerships and enablement for Azure Sphere. Her previous experience include new product strategy and engineering leadership in the semiconductor industry.
